With the sense for something special we are putting our latest
novelty on the market this year - a bluebeard with the name
Caryopteris clandonensis "Symphony in Blue" ®
(S).
It originates from a crossbreeding and was selected from
several thousand seedlings. This plant was by far the best.
The highlights of this new variety are its compact, bushy
growth, its thick and robust shoots as well as its dark green,
shiny leaves and of course the numerous flowers featuring
a deep blue color.
This variety is more also more resistant against leaf diseases
and Phytophthora.
Plant: Very decorative deciduous shrub; compact growth
(50 x 50 cm)
Flowers: Beautiful deep night blue to light purple color;
semi-double flowers, rich-blossoming in thick clusters; August
- October
Foliage: Very disease resistant and shiny, lush dark green
leaves
Planting: Sunny location with a permeable/loamy/sandy soil
rich in humus
Care: No waterlogging; fertilize in the summer; prune in
spring before shoots form; winter protection is recommended
Use: As a bedding plant, for raised beds, small hedges or
low plantings; also suitable as a hanging plant for terraces
and balconies, honey-producing plant
